Nature of research: I have done research with undergraduates primarily in the area of the social psychological aspects of clothing. Students have investigated issues related to appearance management and body image. I am currently interested in issues related to clothing use and disposal, store loyalty, mother/daughter influences on appearance management behaviors and retail therapy. I am also interested in issues related to dress and sexual harassment and issues related to sexualization of children's clothing. I have not had students come to work on a listed project but they are welcome to work on any that I have ongoing.
How a student could participate: Students can participate in data collection, analysis, planning research and the overall phases of a project. Students can develop an independent project or work on an existing project.
